Alpine apparatus catalogue
Above is an ongoing catalogue of the bespoke kit of alpine apparatus which seek to ‘resortify’ the terrain - physical attempts by man to control the mountain and render the landscape safer and more accessible to skiers, hikers and resort operators. We are guided away from dangerous parts of the mountain by a series of interventions; nets, foam buffers and signs warning of dangerous drop offs and unstable rock formations.
Without this kit of parts and the huge teams who monitor and zone this controlled, curated ‘wilderness’, it would quickly start to return to its former state.
